An organisation financed by big business and the European Commission dedicated to ending the democratic self government of the free nations of Europe in favour of a European Superstate.

The European Movement and its European Youth Movement were founded and financed to the tune of millions of Pounds by the American CIA in order to form a united defence of Europe against Soviet Communism. But just as Nazis on trial at Nuremberg tried to convince their American interrogators that all Hitler was doing was fighting communism so the European Movement hid its true ambitions behind the fight against the Soviet Union.

Today, long after the threat from East European Communism has faded, the European Movement still receives massive support from multinational corporations, the European Union and some governments - except that now the Movement's enemies are the democratic self governing nations of Western Europe.

The Chief architect of the European Movement was Joseph Retinger who had been expelled from allied countries during the first world war "as a result of political and social intrigues", and always refused to carry a national passport because the nation states conflicted with his aim of a European Superstate - an aim which he described to the Prime Minister of Italy:

"You and I were both subjects of good old Emperor Franz Josef. Come let us now join forces and conspire together."

The CIA operatives secretly funded the European Movement with at least $3m between 1949 and 1960. In the early 1950s the CIA operatives behind the European Movement said that the British members should be thrown out because they were not "federal minded" enough! They preferred the "democratic" representatives of continental Europe which had scarcely emerged from Fascism - and were therefore more attuned to a European State of the kind which the Nazis had planned in 1941 (now exactly reproduced - see Europe's Full Circle page 92).

Retinger worked "behind the scenes', as he frequently boasted, dealing only with "important people", large corporations and behind the backs of the voters whose nations he planned to destroy.

It was also C I A money which funded the European Youth Movement led in the 1950s by the American Cord Meyer Junior. As a London Based C I A operative Meyer secretly financed the "Yes" Campaign in the 1975 British Referendum on EEC membership. Sir Richard Body MP was approached by two CIA agents sympathetic to Britain and its sovereign democracy who were worried about the biassed nature of the C I A's propaganda against British independence. Cord Meyer's book "Peace or Anarchy" declared that the nation states and national sovereignty should be abolished.

The European Movement spawned the Conservative Group for Europe several of whose members nevertheless tried to present themselves as "Eurosceptics" at the 1997 British General Election (eg Shaun Woodward MP, Bob Waiter MP). Once elected they then wholeheartedly supported the abolition of the Pound, the Bank of England and therefore sovereign British Government.

The European Movement interfered in the 1997 British General election. They organised meetings and propagandised against candidates of all parties who opposed the federal agenda of the European Union - in other words they attacked those who were defending Britain's democracy and sovereignty.

European Movement Lie Number 1:

All 11 countries have met the Maastricht Treaty criteria for joining the EURO.

In fact only 3 of the 11 countries have met the government debt levels needed to qualify. Italy and Belgium have twice the levels of debt laid down in the Treaty. Neither Italy nor France have met the budget deficit limits but have "fudged" the figures by large one-off financial tricks. There is no Maastricht limit for unemployment which is at crisis levels throughout the EU and has taken the burden of reducing the budget and inflation criteria which are in the Maastricht Treaty.

European Movement Lie number 2:

The European Union represents 'Europe'.

Only 15 of the 47 countries of Europe are members of the European Union. The richest - Norway and Switzerland - are not, never have been and do not want to be members.

European Movement Lie Number 3:

The European Union must be democratic and wonderful because the countries of Eastern Europe wish to join.

The EU has erected massive trade barriers against the products and in particular agricultural produce of Eastern Europe. In order to have these removed these former communist countries have to join the European Union and thus destroy the national self government they have only just wrenched from the evils of Soviet Communism and - prior to that - Nazi Europe. EU civil servants, behaving like political leaders, travel round Eastern Europe saying those countries need the EU in order to be "democratic" when hardly any EU laws, regulations and directives ever originate in the normal democratic process.

European Movement Lie Number 4:

The EU has helped to keep the peace in Europe.

It was not the EU but NATO, the transatlantic pact of sovereign democratic nations, which kept the peace for 50 years. NATO defeated Soviet Communism and Imperialism, when many of those countries which formed the European Community were seeking to make Europe "neutral". Indeed without the collaboration of Germany in fermenting the 1917 revolution, the threat of Soviet Communism might not have arisen. France was for years completely outside NATO, often compromising with the Soviet dictatorship. The European Economic Community did not start until 1957. Even as late as 1972 only 6 of the 47 nations of Europe were in the EEC.

European Movement Lie Number 5:

The EU has been good for British business.

One of the most ludicrous of the lies of the European Movement expressed in the weasel words "over 50% of our exports go to the European Union". They omit to say that Britain's trade with the EU is massively loss making - since 1972 the trade in goods has amassed a total deficit of 150,000m in to days Pounds.

In fact only 45% of our TOTAL trade (ie goods and services) goes to the EU while 75% of our overseas investments are outside the EU. (Which expresses the more intimate relationship, trade with or investment in other countries?!) Over 60% of Canada's trade is with the USA but the USA does not control Canada as the EU now controls Britain.

Britain has a surplus on total trade (ie goods, Financial products investment and services) with every continent In the world except Europe. The 1996 deficit with Europe was 15.75 billion and the total surplus with the rest of the world was over 16 billion. Our most profitable trading partners are the USA, Ireland, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and South Africa. Our worst trading partners are Germany, the EU institutions themselves (annual deficit 3,000m) France, Spain, Finland, Belgium and Luxembourg. (ALL EU!)

European Movement Lie Number 6:

The EU is good for the British Economy

When the UK joined the EEC in 1973 we were the third richest country in Europe. Today we are the 13th richest. All those EFTA countries which, unlike Britain in 1973, stayed outside the EEC became richer as we became poorer. The UK has paid in about 30,000 million in budget contributions to be part of a "trade agreement" which allows Germans and Spanish to produce coal at twice the price of British coal while British coal mines close. It allows French and Belgian airlines to get billions of Pounds in subsidies to compete against British airlines. After 40 years of the "Common Market" there is still no fair trade - but we pay nearly 9,000m every year tto be a member.

European Movement Lie Number 7:

Britons can live and work anywhere they like in the EU with practically (!) no restrictions.

This was possible long before we joined the EU, provided a work permit was issued. Today, given the massive unemployment caused by the EUs social and single currency policies, thousands of unemployed Europeans can come and work in Britain, where jobs are plentiful because we have largely escaped EU policies.

Today in theory anyone of 300 million "European Citizens" can come into the UK any time they like. The British government has virtually no control. Those who can cross our borders need only be "European Citizens" who are created by being made nationals of any member country. But neither the EU nor Britain has any say in who or how many nationals of each country are "created'!!

European Movement Lie Number 8

Britain is "influential' in the European Union.

When only the European Commission's unelected civil servants are allowed to initiate policy and they are either controlled by or can do nothing without the Germany/France axis, no other country and no other parliament has any influence at all. Even where votes are taken to rubber stamp policies Britain's percentage of the vote is: Councils of Ministers 11.5%, European Commission 10%, Court of Justice 6.7%, European Parliament 13.9%. In the Council of Ministers the blocking minority is 27 votes, 2.7 times the British vote.

Hubert Vedrine, chief negotiator for Mitterrand at Maastricht: "European Policy has been conducted by a very small number of people, Kohl, Mitterrand, Delors, plus two or three ministers. It's a very small circle where decisions are taken and then ratified a posteriori (later), with regrets about the democratic deficit."

European Movement Lie Number 9:

British Industry supports the European Union and wants a single Currency.

The vast majority of British companies reject the abolition of the Pound for a single currency. Eurofanatic organisations like the BBC and some newspapers usually quote the CBI, which manipulates the (very poor) response it gets from its members to show 'business support" for the EU.

When the Chairmen of the top 100 British companies were asked (not by the CBI!) whether their company was British, international, European or global most said British, none said European!

European Movement Lie Number 10:

Britain must be inside the EU in order to trade.

If the only way we can trade fairly and freely with some countries in continental Europe is to destroy our democratic constitution, bypass our parliament and make our courts redundant then we are being blackmailed by our enemies not welcomed by "partners".

But in fact countries like Norway and Switzerland which have never been in the EU trade much more of their economies with the EU than does the UK. In 1993 Norway traded three times more per capita, Sweden (then outside the EU) traded twice as much and Switzerland traded three times as much as the UK.

European Movement Lie Number ll:

It is necessary to be in the EU in order to enforce environmental and safety standards.

Of course Australia, Canada and other free self governing nations are terribly dangerous places! This is absurd nonsense since there have always been international agreements on trade, environmental pollution, product safety etc. etc. covering far more countries than the few covered by the European Union.

In 1995 the EU signed the Climate Change Convention to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. While Britain has made massive reductions (by decimating the coal industry despite its costs being half that of other EU countries!) the EU insisted that Spain should be allowed to increase its emissions by 25%, Portugal by 40% and Ireland by 209%. Oh - how the world needs the European Union!

European Movement Lie Number 12:

Britain gets so much inward investment because we are a 'gateway to Europe".

Britain has always enjoyed far more inward investment than the countries of the EU - in particular in the 1960s when we were not even a member of the European Community. Because we have always been an open, free trading and internationally investing nation we also attract overseas investment to the UK. If the EU was so attractive then why do non EU countries and companies not invest directly on the continent? Because EU business and employment policies are protectionist, incompetent, wasteful and expensive for investors. Countries like Hungary, Switzerland and Norway also attract large inward investment and they have never been in the EU.

Britain attracts more inward direct investment than all the other EU countries combined. 70% of that investment comes from outside the EU, principally the USA and the Commonwealth. Most of the EU investment in Britain is by French and German companies escaping the hideous employment and economic policies of the EU.

European Movement Lie Number 13:

The European Union has produced 50 years of peace, democracy and prosperity.

Peace in Europe since 1945 was brought about and preserved by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, NATO, a free alliance of sovereign nations (ie the exact opposite to the European Union). It was the British and Americans, two sovereign and independent nations, who wrote the German democratic constitution, instituted a "denazification" programme and gave massive aid to Germany - the Americans through Marshall aid and the British through years of open and fair trading.

But today the "Common Market" has become the "European Union" - a political and constitutional state inspired by continental politicians (despite British resistance). Unemployment has risen to 20 million, Long Term unemployment as a percentage of total unemployment is 46% in the EU, 18% in Japan and 7% in the USA.

In Germany unemployment at 4.8 million is the worst since the 1930s. In one German state, Sachsen Anhalt, unemployment of 23% has re-produced the politics of the Weimar Republic - over 30% voting for either the neo communists or the neo Nazis. A similar political and economic disaster has occurred in France with record unemployment and the success of the National Front.

European Movement Lie Number 14:

The European Exchange Rate Mechanism has been a success!

Purblind Eurofanaticism at its worst. The ERM was the biggest disaster to hit Britain and the other EU members since the 1930s recession. It broke UP completely after the Pound and the Italian Lira fell out of its "strict" exchange rate limits. The "strict" limits have thereafter been set at 15% in either direction - in other words a complete farce.

UK unemployment rose by 1.5m, and national debt rose by 250 billion and we had 5 years of recession. The total cost of the ERM was about 70 billion. On the continent the ERM caused 5 years of recession and 20m unemployed.

European Movement Lie Number 15:

The European Union needs to protect itself against other trade blocks that might threaten us.

In the records of political hypocrisy this must take the biscuit! When a local market like the EU is established to reduce trade barriers it automatically discriminates against those outside its "market". In other words it becomes a protectionist block - the very opposite of free trade. Indeed the Single European Market had nothing to do with markets and free trade but with a Single Europe - ie an embryo single country.

It was the protectionist policies of the Common Market which led other countries (suffering from that protectionism and from European dumping of its produce in their markets) to start other regional blocks. There is now the threat of major world conflict between such blocks - the very system which European Fascism produced in the 1930s and 1940s and which traditional Anglo Saxon liberalism, based on free trading nation states, has always opposed. The European Union started a process of protectionism and trade aggression and now seeks to justify its further domination by warning that others may adopt its own dangerous policies!

The European Movement is the most dangerous threat to that democracy and national self government in Britain and Europe for which 1.2 million British people died in two wars. As in the 1997 election so in future referendums and elections the European Movement will use Funds from big business and the European Union to urge the Further destruction of our country. The Movement's foundation, funding and activities in Britain must be exposed. World debt.

The churches of the world are now marching to say that all debts should be cancelled to start the new millennium afresh. "The West" says we are quite willing to cancel some debts of the third world countries but not ALL debts. In fact the WEST here is not Britain and America. It is the Rothschilds hiding again behind the term the west. This is why Christ said that at the end time "you will be hated of all nations for my names sake" debt, Rothschilds clan, generates hatred. The Rothschilds only have a very little time to change, that is repent. Bible prophecy shows that they wont.
