During the recent tribulations I have been forced into studying the bible afresh and the works of Mr Armstrong to find out where he was right or wrong. Using the Bible as a light emitting and detecting tool I looked at the Passover afresh.
In my letter to Mr Trechak, dated 18 May 94 I stated the following, page 3
`The last Supper. supper (dictionary definition, eaten at even) Deut 16:6 at the going down of the sun, identifies the time.
Matt 26:20 Christ sat down with the twelve at the going down of the sun. and did eat.
Matt 26:26 As they ate he took bread.
Matt 26:27 took the cup. This represented shed blood. Then
St John 13:2 Supper being ended
St John 13:4 rose from supper,
St John 13:5 washed feet
Matt 26:30 sang a hymn.
This only took about half hour bible study and it hit me like a thunder bolt.
The WCG had REVERSED THE ROUTINE. They had put foot washing first then the bread
and wine bit about 20 minutes later. It was the bread and wine and foot washing
he said to follow as the new routine. At the moment I will say this is
new truth.'
NOW at a later date I suggest we get our bibles out and look closely because
after studying this part for over a month; now I am going to say, a :-
Matthew starts the ritual off; Luke gives an overview; and John give the main
details.
The heart shape is simply to identify all relevant scriptures.
Authorized Version
1; Matt 26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the
disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for
thee to eat the Passover?
2; 18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The
Master, saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at thy house with my
disciples.
3; 19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready
the Passover.
4; 20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
5; 21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you,
that one of you shall betray me.
6; 22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say
unto him, Lord is it I?
7; 23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish,
the same shall betray me.
8; 24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by
whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not
been born
9; 25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He
said unto him, Thou hast said.
10; 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and
brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take eat; this is my body.
11; 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them
saying, Drink ye all of it;
12; 28 for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for
many for the remission of sins.
13; 29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit
of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's
kingdom.
14; Matt 26:30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out
into the mount of Olives.
15; Luke22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve
apostles with
him.
16; 15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this Passover
with you before
17; 16 I suffer: for I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until
it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
18; 17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and
divide it among 19; 18 yourselves: for I say unto you, I will not drink
of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
20; 19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave
unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do
21; 20 in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper,
saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for
you.
22; 21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the
table.
23; 22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto
that man by whom he is betrayed!
24; 23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that
should do this thing.
25; 24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be
accounted the greatest.
26; 25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship
over them ; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
27; 26 But ye shall not be so; but he that is greatest among you, let him be
the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
28; 27 For whether is greater he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is
not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you that he that serveth.
29; 28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
30; 29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
31; 30 that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on
thrones judging the twelve tribes1 of Israel.
32; 31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have
you, that he may sift you as wheat:
33; 32 but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art
converted, strengthen thy brethren.
34; 33 And he said unto him, Lord I am ready to go with both unto prison, and
unto death.
35; 34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day,
before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
36; 35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and
shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing
37; Luke22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him
take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his
garment, and buy one.
38; Luke22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be
accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things
concerning me have an end.
39; 38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto
them, it is enough.
40; 39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the Mount of Olives; and
his disciples also followed him. 41; St John 13:1 Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that
his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father,
having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
42; 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into
the heart of Judas Iscariot,
43; 3 Simon's son, to betray him; Jesus knowing that the Father had given all
things into his hands, and that he was come
44; 4 from God, and went to God; he riseth from supper, and
laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
45; 5 After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the
disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel
46; 6 wherewith he was girded. Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith
unto him,
47; 7 Lord dost THOU wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him What I do
thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know
48; 8 hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my
feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part
with
49; 9 me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my
feet only, but also my hands and
50; 10 my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is
washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are
clean,
51; 11 but not all. For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye
are not all clean.
52; 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his
garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye
what I have
53; 13 done to you? Ye call me Master and
54; 14 Lord; and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master,
have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one
55; 15 another's feet. For I have given you an example, that
ye should do as I have done
56; 16 to you. Verily, Verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater
than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
57; 17 If you know these things, happy are ye if ye
58; 18 do them. I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that
the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with
59; 19 me hath lifted up his heel against me. Now I tell you before it come,
that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
60; 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send
receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
61;St John 13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and
testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall
betray me.
62; St John 13:22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom
he spake.
63; 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus
loved.
64; 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it
should be of whom he spake.
65; 25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord who is it?
66; 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop2, he
gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
67; 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him,
That thou doest, do quickly.
68; 28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
69; 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had
said unto him, Buy those things that we need of against the feast; or that he
should give something to the poor.
70; St John 13:30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and
it was night.
Comments
It can be seen from the beginning of Matthew and Luke that foot washing is
not mentioned. It may or may not have been done and Luke 7: 44 only highlights
that Christs feet were NOT washed with water but with the woman's tears. So foot
washing was not always done. I speculate it was not done before this "Passover"
as will be shown later.
Both 4; and 15; are at a similar time. In the same way10;-13; and 18;-21; are
in the same time frame. There is NO similar time frame in John. Now when Christ
said 5; Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall
betray me, this must have caused QUITE A STIR. Judas 9; now knew he was
caught. Why would Christ have to be betrayed? simply because he looked like any
other Jew of his time and it was difficult to identify him in a crowd.
16; With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you
before I suffer. Shows that he badly wanted to get some new instructions over to
them 24 hrs before he died so that they would remember how to keep new
successive Passover's in later years.
Then the blessing of the bread and breaking; the blessing of the wine and
drinking took place,[10;-13;] and [18;-21;]. When this short ritual which took
place at the going down of the sun, both 13; and 19; statements were
heard, 13; But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the
vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom; and
19;which is similar,and22; But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth
me is with me on the table.
These caused an even bigger stir because there was now not only an enemy in
their midst but there was now talk of being with Christ in THE POWERFUL FATHERS
KINGDOM. During this time the food was being eaten and the wine drunk. Judas
ofcourse even now, that he knew that Christ knew, who he was, just had to go
through with it all. AND JUDAS HATED. IT BUT WAS TRAPPED.
Now we come to the interesting bit. 42; St John 13:2. And supper
being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot.
Now one writer has stated that this phrase "AND SUPPER BEING ENDED" is a
flagrant mistranslation. Phew !!!!! that's strong stuff. Well sorry chaps but
you need to study the bible a bit closer than that, or you aren't going to make
it.
"AND SUPPER BEING ENDED", is as accurate as the date on your birth
certificate. No where after this scripture does it say that Jesus ate any food.
He did however finish off his wine,21; Likewise also the cup after
supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for
you. Then 44; he riseth from upper; 45; WASHED THE DISCIPLES FEET. Now
48; is very interesting because Peter becomes quite explosive with-THOU SHALT
NEVER WASH MY FEET. If Peter had had his feet washed once, before supper, he
could have said, hey master I have already had my feet washed once; why again?
What upset Peter ofcourse was that it was the unconventionality of it all. Here
was a being that created miracles, lowering himself to the servant level.
But to go further 52; So after he had washed their feet, and
had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto
them, Know ye what I have [53;] done to you? So he washed their feet and then
sat down. 63; Highlights another point about supper having been finished. Have
you ever tried to eat and drink while leaning on some ones chest (bosom). Girls
try it when they chomp while resting on their boyfriends chest and choke
sometimes while doing it. So now we come to the sop. 66; Still no one new who
the betrayer was. Simon Peter, who was obviously close to Christ both physically
and spiritually wanted to know. So he whispered in Christ ear 65; Lord who is
it? Christ replied "It is he who I give the sop". This sop was the leftovers of
the supper.
It was a most natural thing to do. Jesus picked up a bit of bread, casually
stirred it in some gravy, and palmed it in his hand. Only Peter saw him do it.
Jesus calmly went over Judas and placed the sop on his plate; again only Peter
was aware of this, then Jesus said to Judas --do what you have to do. When the
sop was on Judas' plate, dish or whatever, Satan entered Judas. Judas was glad
to get out. Then Peter recognised the sop on Judas' plate and knew all he wanted
to know. The scriptures do not say that Judas ate the sop.
The finally action comes from Matthew. 14; And when they had sung an
hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. Now the writer of the "a
flagrant mistranslation" went on to say that having foot washing after supper
"would disrupt the whole meal and procedure for the evening". Well sorry again
but you have MISSED the whole point of the exercise. And so did Mr Armstrong.
25; And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted
the GREATEST. 26; And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise
lordship over them ; and they that exercise authority upon them are called
benefactors. 27; But ye shall not be so; but he that is greatest among you, let
him be the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. 28; 27 For
whether is greater he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that
sitteth at meat? but I am among you that he that serveth.
When the foot washing is done AFTER supper it sticks out a mile who will
serve the members. It shows for another thing that the foot washer has studied
the bible and finally, it is PART OF THE PROCEDURE.
God gave Mr Armstrong POWER and he abused it because he LORDED it over church
members.
By having about 12 or a smaller gathering at a Passover evening, one male or
female can physically demonstrate that they are prepared to humble themselves
and serve and they SPIRITUALLY GROW in the process. The head of the house or
gathering learns to lead. To take charge of the proceedings. As more are added
later to the group it splits like an amoeba does and then we have two leaders
that take charge. Etc etc. Although it is a family affair I personally don't
allow our two boys to take part in the actual 10 minute wine or bread bit or
Passover proper. They enjoy a separate glass of wine and the main meal ofcourse
but at this point in time they don't take part in the foot washing. They watch
it all with interest. Christ was baptised about 30 years so I would expect the
children to take a full part when they are baptised 18 years + when they would
know more clearly what they are doing and not take the Passover unworthily.
Now my wife and I agree there was a time when Mr A said that when the Church
bound something on earth it was bound in heaven; and when the church loosed
something it was loosed in heaven. He was of course referring to amongst other
things that the church kept Passover 24 hrs before the Jews and what the church
did one shouldn't question. So we accepted it.
Matthew 16:19,20, And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of
heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt BIND on earth shall be BOUND in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt LOOSE on earth shall be LOOSED in heaven. Then charged he
his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
Sound correct doesn't it?
Well the fact that Mr A. got a lot right doesn't mean to say that he got it
all right. The question that comes to mind is WHAT was to be loosed and bound.
Matthew 18:15-20, Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against
thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he
shall hear thee, thou has gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then
take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witness every
word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the
church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen
man and a publican. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed
in heaven. Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as
touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father
which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.
The binding and loosing is virtually anything other than the laws judgments
and statutes. In the above case a baptised (bound) brother has broken a part of
the law and has not even listened to the whole church, so he is LOOSED and
becomes an outcast. Because laws judgments and statutes are already fixed. We
can't bind which is already bound and we can't loose that which is still fixed.
The person that is asking god to do the binding and loosing has still got to
be obeying the Laws Judgements and Statutes and Preaching Matthew 24.
Now if one took a spiritual machine and put all the heart shapes numbered
from 1 to 70 into it and asked the machine to put a spike or graph when the foot
washing is done, the machine would give a spike or indication at 45 and come
down again at 52. The graph would be flat before 45 and after 52. It would be a
graph of 100% footwashing purity, that's what we want.
Conclusion
It is being established that Jesus washed the disciples feet AFTER supper,
not before.

The writer of "flagrant mistranslation" should also study Yair Davidy a

cover of THE TRIBES show. And please don't quote him out of context to "prove a
point" that's what Mr Armstrong did and fell flat on his face
Germans announce fourth seizure of weapons plutonium3
It was rumoured ten years ago that Germany had the atomic bomb and had the
capacity to deliver it. Remember the flying coffins? Now someone in Germany is
receiving weapons grade Plutonium. All the "safe" noises has been in the news
medial of course but; If Germany gets angry, duck.

Solution
Exodus 21:18,19
And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his
fist and he die not, but keepeth his bed: if he rise again and walk abroad upon
his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit; only he shall pay for the loss
of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. The HE in this case is
the guy or guys that did the damage. NOT the state. People have got to pay for
the consequence of their own actions, it is the only way some people learn.
Once again it is suggested that any Government give the people a two year
warning before it is introduced then bring it into force. I would suggest people
get used to it because that's what's coming, because the do good brigade have
failed society.

We now have two power centres developing; Frankfurt, Germany6 and
Jerusalem, Israel; although the JC7 shows Israel in Euro-clash over
new trade deal (Israel has a deficit trade gap of over $5 billion with Europe)
the bible shows that Jerusalem, after a bumpy start will be the power centre of
the world. The article on the trade map5 also goes on to say that
"Israel and Jordan have opened their borders to tourists and have agreed
to connect their electricity grids within three months. ( Underlining
ours). So the Petra area is being brought into the modern world shortly now.

Apes
London Zoo has recently informed us that Apes can't swim; this rather drowns
the evolution theory.
A question has recently been asked us, in John 14:28, when Jesus said:"the
Father is greater than I,"did Jesus think of himself less than God?
Answer. The full text is: "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and
come again unto you, If ye loved me ye would rejoice, because I said I go unto
the Father: for my father is greater than I". So Jesus did not
think of himself less than God, simply that he was God in the flesh and was
about to die and that his Father, who was at that point in time the Almighty,
could easily raise Jesus from the dead. Jesus did however show his humbleness to
his father at that time. For more information ask for our free article - " What
God is actually like."

Hello ladies around the world.
Its good to see a touch of autumn in the air especially in the mornings, to
show we are getting close to the Feast of Tabernacles. Also every day and each
feast means we are one more step closer to God's rule on the earth.
